Its very exciting to see that these two bands are coming to town.  There coming in November 19 days apart I seriously cannot wait. Also this time there will be no getting shoved under the stairs for Skinny puppy cause I'm now officially over 21. Grin

For those few of you who don't know Skinny Puppy, if you like industrial music at all, these guys have a lot to do with the way things sound these days.  Nitzerebb is no slouch either, and both started in the 80's.  Both bands put on incredible live shows, and yet manage to keep the ticket prices down most of the time.

In Orlando,

The tickets are $20/$25 for Skinny Puppy (advance/day of show) and $18/$20 for Nitzer Ebb.

With these prices, maybe we'll consider going....

I had contacted skinny puppys booking agency about peforming on the gothic cruise - he wanted 5 TIMES that amount!
Seriously...   I had to say no.  Now way anyone is going to pay $125 a person to see skinny puppy.

I think he does that because of all the costume changes and the blood and video screens he has up plus al lthe normal equipment they use.

we bought tickets day of show, so they were $35.  However up until that point they were 30.

If you did manage to get them on board without breaking the bank, you'd only cement your status as on of my favorite people.

Ohgr is a super nice guy, and from what I have heard the rest of the band is decent too.  However they do have a pretty 'excessive' amount of performance gear.

If someone can find SP's email address, and not his booking agents, I'd be happy to see if he'd come down on his pricing for the week.  Honestly his booking agent wanted well over 75K.   Its not realistic for a gothic cruise.

Ohgr also does his solo stuff, which is really good IMHO.

I wonder if you might have better luck with that (or at least approaching it that way)?

He really adores his fans, and I bet if he knew there was a strong desire to see them on the cruise he'd at least be approachable.

Maybe there is a bit of a misunderstanding from Skinny Puppy's booking agent. Perhaps he thinks the whole boat is full goth's... ? Maybe they think he will be performing for the whole boat.

I bet if we offered to donate part of the proceeds to veggie causes he'd be on board.

Plus, you could market it that way.  "Get drunk on a boat to save animals (or eat bacon)!"
